Year: 97
Make: pontiac
Model: sunfire gt
Engine Size: 2.4lt
Refrigerant Type: r134a
Ambient Temp: max 90f
Pressure Low: ?
Pressure High: ?
Country of Origin: Canada

I have read a few posts on here. It seems the front of the compressor, just behind the clutch is showing some oil/dust. Is there a seal there that can be changed on this type of vehicle? I did try to fill the system with a can of storebought stuff and a hose and guage but it all leaked out in a day. is this the correct method? Is it possible to put in some of the stop leak stuff i see on store shelves or is that stuff just for other parts? Is it a big sin to even mention using the replacement cans of r134a and the use of a hose with a guage and a puncture valve? I have no tools to read high side/ low side and i doubt my budget allows for the tools as of now due to poor health. As you can tell i am not that educated at AC but am very good with my hands. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DO NOT USE ANY STOP LEAK. The only thing that belongs in an AC system is refrigerant, proper oil, and proper dye as a last resort. You say you don't jhave proper tools then either rent them or take said vehicle to a professional repair sho[. You need tools and proceedures to do it correctly.

can i fix the seal (if in fact there is one) behind the clutch at the front of the compressor myself? Then...take to a shop to have it recharged. I do have tools ..just not ac guages. Would it be cheaper for me to buy one from the recker yard or is that taking a chance?
