Year: 1999
Make: chevy
Model: tracker
Engine Size: 1.6
Refrigerant Type: r134
Ambient Temp: 90
Pressure Low: 8
Pressure High: 195
Country of Origin: United States

Replaced condenser, compressor, tvx valve, all new seals, flushed system, added filter, vacuum system but not sure about doing it correct?

problem --start up is cold air for few seconds then is just cool, tried more freon then less ,by the way am not a certified mechanic but can

usually solve most problems this got me stumped. no leaks been doing this for couple months but really hot so would like to correct it.

static pressures before start up 150 high side 90 low side running 90degrees out side 200 high side maybe 8 low side ,low side

does not rise when add more freon but high side will., any help would sure be wonderful --- thanks cajun Dan

This system will take 14 to 16 ounces of R134a. I would start will 15 ounces and then see how it performs. Do not add and remove any refrigerant once you have 15 ounces in the system. If you have cooling issues there is something else causing them.

Low Side: 21 to 43psi
High Side: 185 to 244 psi

Depending on ambient temp.

Thanks for your input, can you tell me why low side is so low?

You need to have a proper charge level in the system before trying to diagnose the system. Once you have the correct refrigerant level post the readings and we will try and help. Make sure you charge the system only after it has been pumped down into a vacuum.

Follow Tim's advice, but I notice your low side staying at 90psi, I believe it's reading the can/tank pressure and not the system pressure. Make sure it's depressing the shrader valve... Otherwise the high and low side should be the same static pressure...

Okay I took my tracker to a pro in business 30 yrs. He said I must have a plug between condenser & evaporater valve to have such a low low side pressure

Went Home took valve off ,not clogged just like new ,took line from condenser to valve off ,blew through it- clear, took line from compressor to condenser off

blew through it -clear. Had it re vacuumed down 16 oz freon, guess what 8lb low side 200lb high side vent temp 75degrees ambient 98 degrees.

whats next?
