Was wondering if it was any good or if it will hold up to long term use?

Thanks Crunch

Crunch if you want to repair that hose yourself and have the ability to have the hose sections crimped. Look at the weld on fittings and aluminum brazing rod we offer. Depending on size these are the fittings I would use.

WELD ON #6BL 3/8' TUBE ALUMINUM OD FIT
Fitting Size 3/8
Hose Size #6

Item # 35-B6601-A

WELD ON #8BL 1/2' TUBE ALUMINUM OD FIT
Fitting Size 1/2
Hose Size #8
Item # 35-B6602-A

WELD ON #10BL 5/8' TUBE ALUMINUM OD FIT
Fitting Size 5/8
Hose Size #10
Item # 35-B6603-A

WELD ON #12BL 3/4' TUBE ALUMINUM OD FIT
Fitting Size 3/4
Hose Size #12
Item # 35-B6604-A

Fitting link.

How much 'talent' does one need to use the aluminum brazing rod?

I've soldered and brazed copper lines, done oxy-acetylene welding on steel but have never worked with aluminum.

Should not be a problem for you. Few practice runs and I think you would get the hang of it.
