35-B1701 - Beadlock Bulkhead #6

Hello,

I bought this fitting from Arizona Mobile about two years ago so I could make rear A/C lines for my mom's Suburban. It worked good for about a year, but now it is leaking like a sieve. It's not leaking at the crimp or at the fitting. See picture.

This is where it's leaking. Is this a sealing surface (I don't know why it would be), or did I just get a bad fitting? It's ironic because I tried Nylog and Bib Blu for the first time when I placed my order, and the thing still ended up leaking! I worked at an A/C shop for a while and I don't remember ever seeing a fitting like this one. In Arizona Mobiles defense I called them and told them that I needed a straight #6 fitting. If I would have seen a picture I would have just ordered a regular straight fitting.

Off topic Brad Herrick used to be a moderator on here (as a matter of fact he created my account). Has anyone spoken to him lately.

Only reason it could leak from that area is the fitting slipped down and rubbed a hole in it where it went through the firewall.

Brad is still around.

What's weird is that it is not going through a firewall. It's out in the open. I was just curious. I guess I'll just order some replacement fittings.

Thanks

Without seeing it really hard to tell. All those bulk head connections do it squeeze it up against the firewall or any other area one decided to run it through.
