03 tahoe on Wed June 16, 2010 10:29 PM User is offline

Year: 2003
Make: chevrolet
Model: tahoe z71
Engine Size: 5.3
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Ambient Temp: 75
Country of Origin: United States

03 Tahoe, center vent running around 46 deg. and drivers temp set at 72 deg. a little slow getting chilly, but catches up ok... then I notice hot air coming from the passenger side dash vents?? Actuator maybe?? rear air blowing cold. I need to check my low and high side since I just refilled the unit, by I havn't checked my readings since I refilled last week. where should they be standard? did put 43oz 134a back in and seems to be functioning fine till I notice the passenger side hot air. I did not notice it till today. It might have been doing it before, but I think it just started. any thought experts? thanks in advance... 03 tahoe

Is this a dual zone system for the front air? Also it could have a leak, since you said you had to charge it. You didn’t say what repair had been performed for the re-charge.

The system seems to be holding pressure well. I thought the system leaked down over time and I emptied and recharged the unit to be sure how much was in the system.
Drivers side and rear air are blowing cold... passenger is blowing hot.. the colder I set the passenger stat, the hotter it blows. ( it is a dual system)
Hope it helps...
thanks

sounds like it might be a blend door issue, maybe the actuator, if you checked for leaks and it checked out to be good.

the blend door is up under the dash on the passenger side correct. It seems very simple to replace... do they go up often? is this a dealer item or should I pic one up off the net? thanks for all your help. this site has been very helpful!!
