front fan weak...

alchemist_bobtilton on Thu July 22, 2010 8:26 PM User is offline

Year: 1998
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Suburban
Engine Size: 5.7L
Refrigerant Type: 134a

Is it me, or is the fan for the 1996-1999 Suburbans weak?? Even on High setting, it just doesn't blow a lot. I've cleaned the evaporator thoroughly too, thru the door access.

Has the cabin filter ever been changed?

Something has to be wrong. Either the fan is in need of replacement, you have a partial blockage, like a door not opening as far as it should, or you have leaks in the ductwork. In the suburbans and trucks I have been in from the years of suburban you have....the blower has always been quite strong. I would have to say that they are among the stronger blowers that I have felt.
