System works, but compressor turns on and off constantly and the RPM's are at about 800=900 and it makes a noise like a duck. I tried to install more freon, and the noise increases, so I evacuated some and the noise quit.

i GOT OUT MY GAUGES AND HAD 30 LBS ON LOW SIDE WHEN NOT RUNNING 50 WHEN COMPRESSOR ON
SAME ON HIGH 500-800 WTf 500-800??????

iF i HAD THE HIGH SIDE VALVE OPEN WHEN INSTALLIG FREON, COULD THIS OF CAUSED THIS

I had to check those pressures twice, 500 to 800 on the high side?? keep your face away from the lines, it's gonna blow.. a few possibilities..One, did you pull a vacuum and charge the "correct" amount back into the vacuum?? once the full charge is in it, you never add more.. Next, you have a restriction, or your Cooling fan isn't working..It's turning on and off due to the high pressure, so airflow problem, overcharged or blockage...

One should never have the high side open on a gauge set while the system is running!

I find it pretty hard to believe you have 30 PSI on the low and 500 on the high. Just not very likely with the way an a/c system operates.
