The a/c was working fine but I had to fight with the dash controls to get to come on. Had an a/c man look at it. He said he hooked it up direct and the unit was workin ok.
He seemed to think the problem was in the a/c control module in the dash. My problem seems to be that I can't find anyone that has information about where to find this part.
I have learned that this system no longer uses vacuum to open and close the air vains. Instead I'm Lookin for information about the little motors that controls air directions.
It is hot as hell here in Louisiana and I would appreciate any and all info. you guys could send me
I have owned several of these GM trucks and those dash controls are flaky for sure! If memory serves correctly, it seems like 1995 was an odd ball (transition) year on these vehicles and the HVAC control module is specific to 1995. I have seen some posts on how to rebuild these controls--if you are handy with a soldering iron--may want to do a google search on this. I imagine GM Tech or some of the other guys will chime in and offer much better guidance. You may luck up and find a control unit at lmc truck.
Good luck!
The control head is specific to 95-96 model years. We have them available here if you want to contact us about pricing. The only thing that matters is if it has rear defogger in the back window.
