What should I use to clean the exterior of the AC condenser? I have some concentrated industrial strength
cleaner/degreaser called "Purple Power" and also some "Tuff Task Eliminator Tractor & Big Rig industrial cleaner. but I do not know whether to use one of these or something else.

Either one of those will work fine. I have used the purple power before.

You can use some really strong water based cleaners on a condensor without hurting it. You have to be careful, because things like industrial floor stripper will attack the paint on your car. Some of those industrial chemicals will etch aluminum, so it is important to rinse very well after using such cleaners.

Consumer grade products like Simple Green, ZEP Citrus, Purple Power all work very well.
