Hello All,
I am a newbie, so please have patience. My a/c blows ice cold. But the compressor clutch is squealing. I live near the ocean and I think the salt air has gotten to it. The car has 113k miles on it and the a/c has never been touched. I don't think I can pull the clutch without removing the compressor from the vehicle. And a new compressor with a clutch doesn't cost a whole lot more than the clutch itself. And if I change the clutch I will have to buy a puller (I think). Also, I am planning to install a new orifice tube and a new receiver dryer.
My questions:
Should I buy a new compressor, a reman, or just the clutch?
If the old orifice tube proves to be clean when I remove it, can I simply do a vac and fill and avoid the flush?
Many Thanks,
Russell
I think it will use a TXV and not an orifice tube, and changing the TXV may require diving into the dash. I would do a compressor, TXV, R/D and flush; but thats just me.

Thank you, Hecat. I will take your advice. The flushing is a little scarey.
Thanks Again,
Russell
