Compressor rotation/alignment

Nippondenso 10P13C compressor.

I want to slightly move the compressor so that I can stuff a 2nd alternator under it on my 4x4.

Rotating the compressor so that the fittings are no longer on top will give me more room to work with.

Do the fittings have to remain on top, or can they be anywhere? (unlike a York with a sump).

If not anywhere, how far from vertical can I go? (20,30,45,90..... degrees ??? )

thanks

I don't have the answer, but I've seen them at around 45 degrees..But why would you want to mount another alternator?? and why not mount that somewhere else..??

The carburated version of my engine has the AC and a smog pump below the intake manifold.

My EFI doesn't need the smog pump, and takes up a little bit more room so the AC moves down a little on the same side of the engine.

So currently I almost have enough room below the AC for another alternator. By moving the AC up,over, some rotation; I can stuff a small alternator underneath it.

I want some more charging capacity (lights, etc.) and a second alternator with external regulator is alot cheaper than replacing the existing alternator with one of larger capacity. Plus there's the redundancy of 2 alternators.

The spot below the AC compressor is the only place with enough room for another alternator (after some mods)
