Amount of Oil to Add

amdvar22 on Thu March 17, 2011 11:35 AM User is offline

Year: 1994
Make: Lincoln
Model: Town Car
Engine Size: 4.6
Refrigerant Type: R134
Ambient Temp: 70
Country of Origin: United States

I am replacing the drier and 2 lines on the system. There was a long term leak with some oil accumulation at a fitting. Approx how much oil do you think would be the proper amount to add back into the system. The capacity is 7 oz.

Thanks

3 ounces. If nothing else is being flushed or replaced.

Thanks...I was leaning towards 2 but 3 makes sense.
