CW compressors

This is reference to r4's & know new is the only way to go when dealing with the r4. Last I read that CW supplied the r4 for Delphi, s this still true? So a new Delco would be made by CW? What about a 4s new r4? Thanks!

CW and FS have different tooling from what I understand. CW was supplying Delphi that last time I checked. Icemann could provide more detail when he sees this post.

CWI R4s are a direct clone of the OE GM design. There is one small difference in an attachment point, however, Delco engineers did not feel that this would effect performance or longevity of the part. During the time that GM serviced the R4, we supplied both Delco and Delphi (2 separate companies). 4S introduced a R4 replacement as a supplement to their reman'd unit. Delphi maintains a purchase level of the R4 for after market sales. Delco no longer serviced the R4 compressor.

Let us simply state that their design is their own. A little change here....and little change there. Basically the same result....they both pump refrigerant.
