Compressor, how much oil upon replacement?

Leggie on Tue June 26, 2012 7:21 PM User is offline

Model: Zexel-Diesel KikiDCW-17
Refrigerant Type: CFC 12
Country of Origin: Japan

No obstruction in condenser and there is no debris in expansion valve, but it sounds like a shake the filter drier.

Since the compressor is making absurd noise its getting replaced. Upon removal, I pulled the drain plug on old one and hardly anything came out even after inverting it.

The label calls for 150cc (5oz approximately. Maybe I lost all of it when I was recovering refrigerant.

How much oil do I need to put into the new compressor?

If you replace the drier and compressor. I suggest adding back the five ounces. Be nice to flush the evap and condenser to be sure.
