The A/C system in my 2001 Miata has been dismantled, cleaned, and reassembled (almost .. IâÂÂm about ready to close it up).
I was planning to pre-fill my compressor and evaporator with the required quantity of oil â PAG 46, 5.07 fl oz.
My question is, will this oil be removed during evacuation/pull-down? And, if so, how do I get it back in?
Never thought about it , but I am pretty sure , no .
God bless

Not enough to matter. Some oil mist will be removed but that is normal.

No lubricant will not be removed during a normal evacuation process. If large amounts of lubricant are discharged during the evacuation process, this is typically evidence of excessive lubricant within the system. Test utilizing various size vacuum chambers and quantities of lubricant indicate that the removal of lubricant should not be a consideration.
