hey guys, i have a problem. my ac works fine for a few minutes and then goes bad.
my low side pressure reads between 40 - 45 psi at 80 ambient temp for a few minutes and blows good cold air and then the pressure will rise up to around 80 and then the compressor will start to bog down causing the belt to slip.

is this a sign of a bad compressor or is it the expansion valve? thanks

No high side reading, did someone charge the system with the walmart handy charge, AKA A/C Pro.

i will have to recheck the high side. it was charged properly with a vaccum pump and manifold gauges.

ok when the pump bogs down the low side pressure goes up to 60 and the high side goes up to 375
