service port caps

Refrigerant Type: R-12

I'm trying to locate the service caps that go on the high side pressure ports that were used on some of the Ford and GM cars. I seem to always come up short with them. Also the reducer that goes on that port so that the hose from the high side of the gauge will screw onto it. I didn't see either listed on the web page.

This stuff?

I bought a can of 134a at w**-mart that had a stop leak, oil, and dye in it. It also had a hose and a gauge, so now I'm an AC pro!

I know exactly what you're talking about: to convert the smaller high side R-12 service valves to use your R-12 gauge set. There's a GM type, used it on my 1988 Suburban, and a Ford type, still use on my 1988 Mazda truck, so I've hung onto mine. Yeah, the high side R-12 service caps are smaller, I always pull those R-12 caps at the parts yard.

There's two different size of R134a high side caps, my Frontier takes the larger one. Go figure.

The 90358 - Service Port Adapter is the adaptor that I'm looking for. I need one for a back up cause I have a way of miss placing things in my old age. I'll have to make a trip to Pull A Part and see if I can find any high side caps, I guess no one makes them any longer because hardly anyone uses R12 any longer. I stopped by the local AC supply house and picked up some of the nice brass ones for the low side today.

You might find a brass high side one if you keep looking. It is a standard 3/16 flare fitting.
