spring lock

Year: 2001
Make: dodge
Model: ram 2500
Engine Size: 5.8
Refrigerant Type: 143a

What is the best tool to buy to release the spring locks? I have the set made by Lisle and can't get the thing to release. Even using channel locks I can't get it to push in to get it to release. Any help would be appreciated.

corrosion is your worst enemy--- when they don't release, you can bet there is corrosion in and around the spring...

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......
