Impala not very cool

mhfd112 on Tue July 28, 2015 5:42 PM User is offline

Year: 2000
Make: Chevy
Model: Impala
Engine Size: 3.4
Ambient Temp: 92
Pressure Low: 55
Pressure High: 220

Installed new compressor, accumulator, and orfice tube a year ago last June due to a growling noise that was only present when the AC was on. Noise ended up being a lose alternator bracket. AC worked good until recently. It's sweating all the way back to the compressor and vent temp in the low 60s. I still have my old compressor. Thinking about putting it back on. Also, old orfice tube was clean last year.

Any suggestions?

"It's sweating all the way back to the compressor "

Sounds like it could be an overcharge.

I put 3 12 oz cans in when I charged it. That's what the chart called for, if I read it correctly.

Put the old compressor back on. Started sweating back to compressor at 24 oz. vent temp of 44 pressures were 245 and 30. 90 degrees and humid here.
