Ht6 compressor hose

bigge31566 on Sat October 10, 2015 11:46 AM User is offline

Engine Size: 350
Refrigerant Type: 134
Country of Origin: United States

I'm installing a HT6 compressor in older model truck and the suction and discharge ports sit at different elevation, maybe a eighth inch lower, but my hose ends sits level, will this affect the seal or am I missing something hose fits the port, hose came off a newer model also

The hose you have is an R-12 hose- prior to 1994 model year- the compressor is for 1994 and newer- you can still use the hose if you buy the sealing washer kit- the red washer goes in the deapest slot, while the standard washer goes in the shallow slot.

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......

Are the metal inserts (P-1 or P-2) really necessary in the kits or are the sealing washers to make the hose block level against the head of the newer style compressor sufficient (except maybe flat hose blocks without any pilots)?

I've never used the pilots (metal inserts) they are for a style of hose used prior to my time anyway...Make the manifold level is all that matters.
