Looks like a flare fitting. You could use a side grinder and CAREFULLY put a slice in the ferrule. Then remove the hose. Depending upon what is sticking in the existing hose, you may be able to have a new hose crimped onto it. If not, ypou can cut the barb off and tig weld a new barb on the fitting and have that hose crimped. You would need to measure the inside diameter of the hose to get the correct size.

Do you think I could braze on a beadlock fitting? Ultimately I want to run barrier hose with a beadlock crimp.

steel to steel can be brazed. Alum to alum tig is best. I personally would TIG because I have the equip and can do a nicer job. If I knew what size you had, I probably have a new fitting. I would have to know the size of the hose and fitting.

The size of the hose is 13/32" (#8). I can't tell you exactly what size the fitting is. It is a female flare that is either #8 or #10 (apparently factory AMC A/C does not use a #10 hose, but may have used a #10 fitting).

Measure accurately the outside diameter of the flare and the inside of the fitting (threaded part)

Why not just get a #8 to #10 beadlock Flare fitting?
