Year: 97
Make: ford
Model: expedition
Engine Size: 5.4L
Refrigerant Type: R134A

Hey check this out, my a/c was'nt as cold as it should be. I called around and got answers from; it's going to be 1800.00 to 65 bucks to look at it. I recharged it myself for 35 bucks. 5 cans or 134a and its cold again. Don't be fooled what some of the guys say. Yes it may be expensive if work is needed. but if you not sure, get more opinions from other shops.

If you were short 5 cans of refrigerant you have a large leak. When you added these 5 cans did you pull a vacuum first? Don't count the chickens before the eggs hatch. I agree that a second opinion is good advice and their are honest and dishonest in all fields. But I think you may still have a little work to ahead.

How would you respond to such a call without first seeing the vehicle? The vehicle could require a top off or have a loose connector someplace, or maybe even the caller doesn't know how to switch the AC on! Or the entire system may have to be replaced.
