Which car has the best performing a/c system?

VegasGMC on Fri December 17, 2004 9:33 PM User is offline

Next spring Im moving to Phoenix or Santa Fe. Im getting a car now for my daily driver. If I decide on Phoenix I want a mid-size with a good a/c system. I was there once in august with my Jimmy and the a/c was useless. Thanks

Must have been something wrong with your Jimmie's a/c, I drive a 98 GMC and I would drive it across Iraq in the heat of the summer and stay real cool, it just took a little tweaking the charge and LPC and you can store meat in my truck driving down the road.

Get either a white vehicle or preferably one with a mirror finish.

My opinion stay away from Chrysler and European vehicles. My preference for not only cold a/c but overall great performance would be a Lexus, Toyota or Honda.

Just found out the Jimmy needs a new engine so I'll be getting the car sooner. I was leaning towards the Camry. Id like a Lexus if you can spot me a loan Tim???

Still saving for my Lexus! I have a 95 Toyota 4x4 with 6cyl engine. Cools not matter how hot it is outside and other than clutch disk and brake pads/rotors this truck has been great! Mom loves her new 03 Accord after going the MB and Volvo route.

Got to admit it , when I was in the Middle East, nothing could come close to my Corolla, so Toyota gets my vote

Toyota and Honda pretty much have the same design these days. Just say away from any Japan model that used the Keihin compressor! Something is not lined up as Karl and I agree on something!!!

LOL Well I'll stick with my "Junk" Toyota, suggest that you find yourself a quality Chrysler Voyager

Out of various makes and models from various countries the best a/c I have come across is in 1996 Audi A6. I think this version was around between 94 to 97 MY. Very powerful, even in hot weather (over 100 F). The car's heater isn't that great, takes a long time to get going, but the a/c is excellent by any standards.
Some cars with bad a/c from my experience, 1990s Subaru, Saab 9000. Not recommended.
