MY GRANDSON BOUGHT THIS MAZDA. HE WAS TOLD BY THE OWNER THAT AC DIDN'T WORK, CAUSE WAS BAD COMP. I PUT MY GAUGES ON AND THERE IS NO PRESSURE ON HI OR LOW STATIC. WHAT TYPE OF OIL DO THESE Mazda USE? HOW MUCH SHOULD I PUT IN TO TEST FOR LEAKS. I HAVE A OIL INJECTOR. I DON'T SEE ANY SIGNS OF A MASSIVE LEAKS. ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE WILL BE appreciated. MIKE
If you have no idea how much oil is in there, Iwould just add s chasrge to see if in fact the compressor is working. If so, recover (find the leak first) then flush th system and add back the proper amount of loil depending on the refrigerant used. There may even be a two wire switch on or near the drier to jump the compressor on. If it's bad, you should be able to tell right away. If not, then charge it a bit, find the leak (he may have just meant the compressor leaked) then go from there..I wouldn't add any oil in the beginning for a quick test...Just my opinion...

I think you would need some refrigerant to activate the system. As for the oil question this system would have used mineral oil if not converted at some point. Sounds like a leak in the system with will need to be tracked down and repaired. Then further diagnostic's of the system could be preformed.
