President Watanbe's (Toyota) Dream Car.

NickD on Tue August 08, 2006 5:23 PM User is offline

Ha, drive across the USA on one tank of fuel and clean the air in the process. So how is he going to do this that caused me to read the rest of the article.

He, ain't, but just said what is coming up in the next few years, in a nutshell, same old crap, direct fuel injection, variable valve timing, and more electronics. These subjects have been beaten to death ever since the 70's energy crisis. Major emphasis is on liter size diesel engines, now that is a possibility for better economy especially if these are mounted on a moped chassis.

Simple solution to the Prius, adding another battery pack can increase it's electrical range by 3.7 miles, ten would give 37 miles, can't fit in ten battery packs, so we are going to develop a battery pack with that energy in 1/10th the size, ha, they have been trying to do that in the last 110 years, the higher the activity of the chemicals used to get that energy, the greater the corrosion, and the leakage increases drastically, wonder how they are going to solve that problem? But they will so the president claims.

Other innovations are using ethanol so called flexible fuel vehicles, but mostly for Japan as they are still using 100% gasoline.

So where is this dream car at? Hate when they start an article like that to get me interested than bore me to death with the rest of it.

Wonder why Toyota isn't importing those tiny little European vehicles they make into the USA? Maybe it's because the insurance rates would be extremely high as any SUV could flatten them.

Get rid of the big men behind the petroleum companies and a few Texans we would not have this problem..however we also whouldnt have a president.

Hey, those big men know how to make money, and that president knows how to spend it, couldn't ask for a better combination than that.

We'll soon be adding tax credits to BP to help defray the cost of repairing the Alaska pipeline.

Certainly we can't expect them to foot the bill themselves. After all..........it is "our" oil.
