Side note, it was reported tonight on the news. The last 7 Phoenix police offices to die or be killed. 5 were at the hands of illegal aliens. But hey this is not an issue we face in America. I know I'm a racist for thinking that with tighter border control. These 5 may still be going home to their wife and kids.

Not sure of all the details as it was a long time ago, but as I remember...I and my brother are the sons of an American serviceman who was stationed in England. Our mother is (was) an English citizen. They were not married at the time of mine and my brothers birth, therefore we were English citizens. They later married and when I was 9 yrs old, we came to the U.S. following immigration laws of that time. It was not until I was 18 and my brother 16, that us and our mother had completed all the necessary prerequisites to become American citizens. At the citizenship ceremonies, we had to take an American history exam, in English (not so hard for us) to demonstrate a minimum knowledge of American history and the English language; before being sworn in as citizens. Surely my parents had no idea that this would have been a much faster, easier, and less costly process if we had just come in through Mexico

Today, my cousin, an English citizen (British Navy trained laser technician) who was employed by an American company, pays taxes and owns a house in Indiana; was denied a permit to remain and work here and his employer had no choice but to let him go. He has started his own business and has gained a short term permit from immigration under certain clauses to do with technology startups. He has had to show he has enough capital available, is not eligible for any type of government grants, business development funding, or social economic funding of any kind. This is to guarantee he will not be burden on our economy in any way and to show he is contributing (thats adding to, not sucking from) before he will be granted the opportunity to stay longer and seek citizenship. His wife and son recently returned to England to bury her mother, now immigration will not allow them to return. Isn't that nice.

It seems to me, by the way my cousin is being treated, the amazing hoops he is being made to jump through, the financial risk he is taking with no grantees he can stay, and the separation from his family; would make anyone consider the "Rio swim" over going through this beurocratic BS.

Over 2000 years ago the Chinese decided to build a wall between themselves and a neighbor; using slave laborers from the neighbor to build this "Great Wall". As slavery is not so PC correct today, I guess we would have to pay them and then plant them on the other side of the wall when it was completed. It can be done. We'll need masons, carpenters, some burger flippers, and a few landscapers towards the end of the project. Got any idea where we can find these guys?

I always thought you would get shot if you crossed a sovereign border illegally. I know if you cross the threshold of my home border illegally you could be. Why do we NOT have a military presence on our border with shoot to kill orders? Is this not the understanding we have of how most sovereign nations would rightfully so, protect their borders? Why is this concept seen as a violation of human rights issue, do they have the right to cross our borders illegally? Don't we have the right to protect our borders? Is 12 million crossing the border not quite enough to consider an act of war or an invasion?

I can go on, but I have got to drop it for now and get back to work so I can contribute legally to our society and do my part to feed, clothe, school, and supply medical care to 12 million or so illegals and their families. Anyone want to trade out some yard work for the free ride? I didn't think so.

FLUSHING TECHNICAL PAPER vs2.pdf

I can appreciate what you are saying, Hecat, as in the same boat as your cousin, had to sign the I-864 form that omits any federal, state, county, city, or even private aid, even if we needed it. Could be a hit and run driver would hit one of us disabling us for life, in that case, we will be screwed. The illegals don't have this concern, and I go with that 20 million figure for illegals that many experts have stated stating that Washington DC is using a much lower politically inclined level.

If immigration followed their schedule, my wife should be able to send her N-400 right now, as it is, have to wait another year, but tempted to send it in anyway, as will take them that long to even look at it. They do cash the fee charge check instantly, however. She has no problems with English as is working as a medical interpreter, but are are studying American civics and history. Ha, wonder how many Americans can pass that test? Is nice to read the purity of our constitution and the Bill of Rights, but back in those days, they didn't have the EPA, OSHA, ERA, DNR, IRS and another 1500 government agencies that a private citizen has to deal with or local laws that deal with the right to bear arms not to mention the local tax assessor where if you don't let him in your home, will cream you with extra property taxes.

Found it ironic that I could fly down to Colombia and Venezuela without a visa, each issued one to me at the airport that took all of five minutes, but for my mother-in-law to visit us, took her over a year to get one working slowly with the American consolate.

Only 50,000 aliens are allowed here each year with a lottery system, but 20 million are apparently allowed here illegally. My wife commented whether all the illegals will be deported with this old 1986 law, my only comment was the odds of that happening are the same as the oil companies bringing the price of gasoline down, it's what the corporations want that determines what gets enforced and they want cheap labor.
