Hey all - long time no talk. I have been remiss in relating an experience I had with Tim and Ackits. Some years ago I replaced the R-12 system on my 1991 Explorer with a quality R-134 system from Ackits. The kit went in without a hitch except maybe for a few cuts and bruises. This was, of course, not due to the quality of the Ackits kit but rather the blundering of the tech, namely myself, doing the install. Despite having a few problems, Tim and Jack were on top of the retrofit and were of immense help. Last January I took a 3 month contract with a bank in San Diego. About one month in, I flew back to Dallas and then drove my Explorer from Dallas to San Diego to save on car rental. Over $1200/mth - way to much - at 50.5 cents/mile write-off - had to use my car. Anyway, The A/C had been steadily declining in quality and quantity and I decided that on my drive back to Big-D that I would wing it thru Phoenix and let Tim and his guys take a look-see. Wow, was that a smart move. Not only did Jack fix my problem but I got a one-on-one tour of Tim's place - very, very impressive. It is large - really large. Ackits does all their own 'forming' and they have dies dating back to 1960 something. They can also form cut just about any bracket you can imagine. The capabilities that Ackits possesses really allow Tim and his dad to provide quality products at affordable prices. I was very, very impressed and, guys, I do not impress easily. Anyway, I just wanted to relate my experience. If any of the regular forums writes get a chance to get to Phoenix, you HAVE to see Time.
Thanks Tim,
Mike H.
It's takes our entire team to make things work. Now if we could get our one teammate "economy" to get its act together. We would be rocking!
Thanks for the kind words!
