Just happened to grab my wife's set of keys to note her remote was not working, the blue LED flashed with each button, and I could hear the main relay in the receiver clicking, but the directing relays to either unlock the doors, lock the doors, or open the trunk were not working. Took it apart and cleaned it, can checked all the soldering connections, all was good. Then reprogrammed the receiver for both remotes, mine works fine, hers just clicked the main relay. Battery was good, all the discrete components are good, just leaving an 8 pin SM chip that I know nothing about. Has to be the problem. Don't know if these are flashram or have the codes burnt in.
I am assuming these things send out an address code followed by the directivity code, but the latter is no longer there. Nothing I can repair, matter of fact with most of this new stuff, can't repair much of anything, do not know how long this problem existed, but the good news was nothing was taken from the car, it wasn't locked when my wife left it.
Only solution is to buy a new remote, did a web search, 30 bucks for these things, seemed kind of stiff for just one remote, so did more searching. Found a better deal with an identical receiver included with two remotes for five bucks more, so ordered that. Guy can't even buy what he needs anymore without getting nailed. And what doesn't break down becomes obsolete, so is also useless.
Yeah, the same thing happened to the remote for my Explorer. Only recourse was to replace. WE do live in a throw away society. Planned obsolescense?
Check for shorts or leakage around the keypad wiring. It could be that you push a button, but the chip can't decode which button correctly. It sends the wrong code, perhaps a code that should not exist in your version of the system.
It's very clean, first thing I did with a pray that didn't work. Wife is always leaving her keys on the counter top, my guess is that one drop of water got on it, that is all it takes to wipe out these cheap ASIC's. Should make a small clear plastic bag for it.
More like 70, well getting close. Honestly, never have been approached by anyone to sell me drugs, would probably kick him/her in the ass, or is that the butt?
Box came in with two new remotes, harness and receiver. Took about 20 seconds to program the two new remotes and my one good one. They are using a 14 pin chip now instead of an 8 pin chip, still don't know what it is, no numbers on it. Grabbed my Canon camera, put newly charged batteries in it, it turned on, the display went on for about a second than blacked out, won't come on again. Figure the black light went out, everything else seems to work.
Cuisinart brewed half a pot this morning and quit, think I will go back to bed.
We have a Cuisinart DGB-600BC "Grind and brew" machine. It's a lower number, so perhaps it's a cheaper machine. In any case, it's a piece of junk. It has broken two grinder lids so far, to the point where I bypassed the safety mechanism the second time. It must be cleaned and completely dried between uses. And to top it off, the controller loses the time and displays "--" after each run. Unplugging the unit momentarily gets the (wrong) time back in the display.
My Coffee Pot so for no problems after 3 years I love it It's a DGB-300FR.

Got my Canon A75 working, an interlock switch wasn't fully engaging, that is one tough little sucker to work on, like a Chinese puzzle.
I can't believe I lost the receipt for that darn Cuisinart, looked all over for it, Cuisinart tells me by the serial number it was made in 2005 and out of warranty, I just bought the darn thing about 4-5 months ago. Store was no help in getting me a copy. Really don't want to take that apart to find the problem.
Yeah, my 15 buck Mr. Coffee is still working, has to be at least 4-5 years old, think I will buy a 2009 Cadillac so I can really have some problems.
Glad to see you were able to fix your camera Mr. Nick.

Running about 50% on cameras, if they got wet, I and the camera are dead. But this one spent most of it's four and half year life sealed in a zip lock bag. Has to be a good money maker for the Japanese, estimate the raw materials cost under a buck. They spend that and bring 200-300 bucks into their country. Cells phones have to be a huge money maker, estimate the manufacturing cost of about 8 bucks with a turn around time of about a year. Mine is also four year old and still working, but they are sure putting pressure on me to buy a new one so I can get video games, MP3 player, download ring tones, scheduler, and a bunch of other junk. Tell them I just want a phone, ha, Chicago reported 9 serious accidents a day, well they call them accidents, from people playing with their phones and walking in front of a moving vehicle.
They are making new vehicles the same way with all that garbage on the dash to play with and way overpriced garbage at that.
Now for this thing..
Is a nice pot when it works.
The DCC-2000 is completely dead this morning, searched hi and lo for that darn receipt yesterday, only thing I could find is my check payment to my Younker's credit card last June. Called them, knew about the payment, but no details as to what was purchased. Just my darn luck had to purchase a brand new unit that had a serial number dated over three years ago. Did call Cuisinart, and gave them the story, plus they should have my warranty card that is worthless without the receipt, had to pay them ten bucks plus return shipping costs. Should have new pot in ten days.
This morning, that pot is completely dead, it died a very slow death lastly over a week. Could take it to my lab and hit it with 50,000 volts to see if that makes a difference.
Ha, can remember a time in my life when I first tasted coffee, how can you drink this stuff? Doctor asked me how many cups of coffee do I drink in a day, replied, don't you mean pots?
Sure wanted to meet my new brother-in-law at my last visit to Colombia, he grows coffee beans someplace 300 miles north of Bogota, wife and in-laws thought it would be too dangerous for me to travel up there. What the heck, the kidnappers would only get five bucks! We are planning another trip soon, maybe I can bring back a sack of beans, ha, maybe not with customs.
