hey GM Tech....

... I thought of your fondness for butchered price signs when I saw this. Note that the 99 Cent Dollar Club is selling milk for $2.99. We didn't go in, so I really don't have any idea what their pricing scheme really is.

Nick might appreciate how nice 20 year old Ford trucks can look in Southern California though, plywood sideboards not withstanding. No rust there!

Feel GMtech likes to post photos showing 0.99 cents meaning less than a penny.

Price of milk here is $1.99 per gallon.

We have one of the worlds largest car shows dating way back to 1903 with over one hundred acres of vintage cars to look at in Iola, WI, the trick is, you don't drive them in the winter.

Plenty of road crews out now with zillions of detours repairing the salt damage to the roads, while it does melt the snow, it seeps into the cracks, thins out and refreezes causing huge hunk of concrete to crack and lift. The idiots haven't figured that out yet or do that intentionally to get payback from the contractors. Sick of writing about this.

My 88 Supra Turbo is pristine, it was never taken out when tons of salt were put on the roads. Salt here is not natural, but man made by idiotic politicians. Ice rains are rare, but wouldn't mind if they just put a tad of salt on the roads when that happens.

Spent over three hours chipping away rust from my son's 2002 Sunfire brake system, a daily driver, pads were rusted so bad to the guides, the brakes were not even working, but they say salt saves lives. After a good cleaning to bare metal, I paint all the surfaces with anti-seize, then apply the black brake grease, it last a bit longer that way.

Yeah- I look for people who don't know the difference between cents and dollars.....and can't write it on a sign.....my Physic teacher taught me to ALWAYS provide units of measure after any mathematical answer- or lose half credit for my answer----if the answer was 12.2-- he would say 12.2 what? apples? or if I used the wrong units, half off again...

Hey Nick- what about that new chemical they spray on the highways (much like you would use on a field- with a field applicator) you can see the "lines" on the pavement, where the spray sits for several weeks- waiting to react to the snow when it happens-- always see this in late November- I hear it is really corrosive-- the guys at the highway department say the applicator doesn't last more than 6 months, even the hoses have to be changed...So what does this do to our cars? I have seen a few 1 year old under carriages that look like they are 10 years old! Is anybody regulating what the DOTs can use? I think they don't care-- but this stuff is extremely corrosive

-------------------------
The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......

Must be this stuff.

"“Magnesium chloride, in particular, is sticky stuff,” says Greg Fulton, president of the Colorado Motor Carriers Association. “And they put it down as a liquid long before it starts to snow, so it’s in its pure, undiluted form. Not only does it kill roadside vegetation, but it clings to vehicles running through it, causing rapid corrosion — and difficult removal.”

From CCJ Magazine

Depending on how long I intend to keep a vehicle, may even paint all the brake parts including the backing plates and lines, especially the caliper holder using a high temperature engine paint.
