Be safe out there and enjoy the holiday. Pray we will be able to celebrate this holiday again next year as free Americans.

Wife was very happy to celebrate the 4th as an American citizen to use her words for the first time in her life.

She had to work hard to get that USC, course, I helped her, a little.

We celebrated by going to Milwaukee, spectacular fireworks display on the lake, also Summerfest she enjoyed, that was on the 3rd, don't ask me why, but on the fourth, all the local towns had firework displays, really incredible. Only takes five short years, a lot of fees, attorney costs, traveling cost, missed days from work, FBI, USCIS, and DOS checks to become a USC.

I did get her a flag, flown over the US Capitol building in her honor, 5 by 8 foot, made in the USA, sewn strips of red and white, not printed, with the 50 stars sewn with white thread on a blue cloth. Quite impressive, but we weren't home to display it.

The bad news was the terrible condition the people left Veterans Park and National Ave. in after the fireworks and parade. Aluminum cans, plastic bottles, food wrappings everywhere, as far as the eye could see. What a bunch of slobs we have in this country, disgusting. Most alarming to me is the condition they left the lawns of the private residents they used to watch these events, if it was my lawn, would be out with a shotgun, no reason for that.

Congrats to your wife, Nick. It takes a lot of will power to stick with it. She must be one incredible woman.

You are right about the slob thing. I work part time at Lowes and the general public and you would not believe the messes they make.
