PAG in the radiator?

FrankD. on Fri November 13, 2009 12:04 AM User is offline

Prestone Cooling System/Antifreeze Treatment what is supposed to be in this stuff?

On the back label it lists Contents as Polyalkylene Glycol (proprietary).

I am probably reading this wrong but isn’t that PAG oil?

Is it not Propylene Glycol (PG)?

A phosphate inhibitor (phosphated HOAT) is often used to act as a buffer to keep the antifreeze (PG) mixture alkaline.

Probably just word play (proprietary); it is not PAG refrigerant oil.
