Lost the USB computer cable for my GPS

Not even sure why I purchased the darn thing, does have some nice features, like a digital compass to within a degree, shows speed limits and give a warning if over, and the maps are darn good. But made the comment to my wife, with the advent of electronic calculators, can no longer solve math problems in my head, with direct dialing, don't even know a single phone number anymore including my own. With all these new electronic devices, getting stupid. Maybe with GPS, won't even be able to back out of the garage without getting lost if it doesn't work.

Was working on it last Wednesday, couldn't find any kind of a decent bracket to mount it to my car, so I made it. Also updated it last Wednesday and swore I put that USB cable in back in the box. Looked everywhere, traced all my steps, can't find that cable anywhere. Can't blame anyone for taking it, was the only one here, but always the first thought to blame somebody. Did lose my DeVille keys and looked every where, accidently put those in the change pocket of my jeans, even after a dozen washes, they never fell out, my wife found those. So I did check all of my coat pockets for that cable because I was working out in the cold. Although I have no idea why I would put that cable in a coat pocket.

I did run across an old Motorola cell phone USB cable, and to my amazement it works with the GPS, so I am not dead. Was also working on my taxes last week, decided to take a break and make that bracket for the GPS. Nothing screws up my brain more than doing taxes, all those double and triple negatives they use and all those forms and instructions. Not only the feds, but the state as well. No, that cable is not with my tax forms, look there too. It's criminal as to what this country puts us through once each year.

Wife and I are headed south from February 7-20, way south, like near the equator, maybe that rest will refresh my memory, said, we are not taking computers with us, need a break from that too. Besides a pain in the butt to come back into this country with a computer. We are headed to Cartagena, Colombia to the nice warm beaches, she likes that. Just hope we make it back.

Hey, have a great trip - enjoy the sun.
About the cable - try cablewholesale.com. They have more cables at fantastically low prices than anybody else.
I use a CPA for my taxes - but, then, he is my best friend so is free. Did you find your rebate IRS form?

Found that, filled it out and my taxes are mailed off already. Must really be getting paranoid, after reading all the fines and penalties and out of stamps, had to go to the post office and send them certified mail with a receipt. Perhaps after a five year stint with the USCIS, they really love to lose applications, and if you don't have proof you mailed them, can deport your wife.

They don't deport illegals, they don't even want to know about them, but if you apply legally, they know about you. And when they tell you to bend over, you don't say how far, but say, is this far enough. Occurred to me later that my canceled checks would be proof, so I wasted five bucks. But dang, I am getting paranoid whenever I deal with our government.

I had both my GPS and cell phone cable sitting in front of my monitor where I was doing my taxes. Somehow my cell phone cable got returned back to it's box, GPS must have flipped that toward my Sony reel to reel player sitting next to me. Somehow it slipped back and was tangled with a zillion other leads. Was thinking more about my tax returns than what I was doing. Think they call that a one track mind.

With my business would have to pay upwards toward 3,000 bucks to have a tax accountant do it, say that is deductible, which only means you don't have to pay taxes on it. Wive's employer withdrew a lot less income taxes so she would have more money to spend, but the tax tables were identical to last years, so our check was extra large.

With state taxes, they are still using property tax tables from the 70's not realizing that our property taxes are four times as much today, another check had to be written. Kills me to have to pay taxes on our interest earnings when our bank account has lower value today than last year. If we had no inflation, why did our property taxes increase by 6.3% since last year. And while tuition rates have gone up drastically, can only deduct a capped amount of that. Ombama promised no taxes on SS benefits, same old confusing work sheet and had to pay a huge bundle in extra taxes on that.

A real nice deduction would be what we paid on FICA taxes, but you can't deduct that and have to pay a huge income tax on top of that. And when you get your SS benefits have to pay taxes on that as well.

I did open a separate account for our taxes, darn near could have purchased a new car with that, but saw it dwindle away to nothing after all of our taxes. Now we have to build that back up again for next year.
