Obviously British or Australian or these people are really drunk by driving on the wrong side of the road. And where are the cops when you need one? Sure can find one when you don't need one, passed by four partially hidden behind the brushes with just a short mile drive waiting to stick someone with a ticket for doing 26 in a 25. Or more like doing 16 in a 15 even when no children are present.

Then I had to learn of another dirty medical term, an abdomen aortic aneurysm, 2 cm is normal, got a 4, but they don't do surgery until you hit a 5.5. Said to my doctor, well fix it, but they don't until you hit that magic number of 5.5 but suggested I don't wear a seat belt. What, and pay 200 bucks fine ten times a day, I will die of starvation first. Just keep my eyes wide open and constantly looking around, namely for cops, but also for idiots that pull out in front of you or run a stop sign. That happens daily around here. And why are my vehicles loaded with air bags? Told they are there just because I may not be wearing my seat belt.

If drunken driving is a problem, what the real solution is, is to have a government that doesn't drive you to drink.

What is so squeamish about seeing a little blood? Just like AC systems we can also leak some out, maybe drinking a can of R-134a with sealant in it is a solution.

Still can't buy a bottle of wine after 9:00PM, but the bars are wide open until 2:00 AM and the only way to get there is to drive with no take out service. Its like we have laws where they want you to commit a crime so they can get more money out of you.

State just passed another law, no texting while driving, what in the hell good is that law when we already have a law where you can't use your cell phone. Feel our leaders are spending way too much time drinking. Whenever I hear the news, feel like I need a drink. They also passed a law against smoking in bars, so you have to be careful when driving at night for a bunch of drunks in the middle of the road smoking cigarettes.

That most excellent of road safety films was from Austrailia and it should be required viewing to all new drivers... That particular film is a compilation of many of the other TAC films covering all aspects of road safety from drink, drugs to driving tired and generally driving like a pratt... Ther is another very good film made by Gwent Police in Wales covering texting whilst driving, something that I know is almost impossible to do whilst driving safely Clicky

Was forced to watch real gory accident movies, even worse than that for getting a speeding ticket while in the military. Didn't make any difference if they tossed you in the stockade for two week just for being two seconds late. Just made be for more careful in looking out for cops.

Worse thing that happens when you do everything right and drive very defensively, is to be a victim of these idiots.

Nick, You'll never stop the braindead element though a well positioned tree may one day.. Most accidents are caused by decent folk being thoughtless... These films help to focus their thoughts, it is very easy for the viewer to place themselves in the position of the actors and to consider the potential outcome... Don't know what methods your police use, but our traffic police use a roadside breathaliser on every driver that they stop... If it shows positive, then they are taken to the station for a more detailed breath test which is admissible in court. the fims dont have to be graphic as they demonstrate just how quickly an accident happens and the result for the victims and their loved ones... Believe it or not most drivers genuinely think that they will have the time to avoid any accident, it's not untill you have a decent shunt that you learn that this isn't so

Karl I don't buy that these are effective means to stop drivers doing silly things. Not on a scale for which they are intended. Sure would be great if it did!

Watching people getting killed, and the more terrible, the better, is considered entertainment in movies. Ha, watched that last Indiana Jones film last night and the more those Russians got smashed up and eaten alive, the better.

If you really want to pleased the crowd in a drag or stockcar race, really get mangled.

Have to say my oldest son was a hot rodder at 16, quite by accident, he came with me to a wrecking yard, when we could go to a wrecking yard in our state and saw a car identical to ours I wanted to take parts off of. Driver was killed in that car hitting a power pole, front end was smashed in, windshield broken, blood all over the place. That really made an impression on him, and he really slowed down and became a very defensive careful driver.

Two TV shows I really hated that gave a bad impression to him, the A-Team and the Dukes of Hazard, did some pretty stupid things with vehicles, but never got hurt. Was an anti-violence thing going on, now that was dumb. Not so funny if you are the victim and you do get hurt.
