7 Bucks a month average for 24/7 Hot Water Energy

Just using my hot water heater for the summer months, again just installed a conventional natural gas hot water heater, avoiding those way over priced troublesome power vented heaters with a very short warranty period. With three people in the home using all the hot water they want. I do, that's less than 8 cents per day per person.

With prices this low, not really the place to look for energy cost savings. Ha, I still have that on demand Bosch electric heater brand new in the box. And could be more problems with high current solenoids, a bunch of sensors, and a microcontroller board.

Of course, my natural gas bill is much higher than seven bucks a month, has a monthly pipe connection charge, a monthly meter reading charge, and a contribution to those that can't pay their gas bill charge. Are we a communistic country? Why was I drafted to fight communism? But I would have to pay this anyway if I used any gas or not.

One thing that really lowered my gas bill was installing a check valve in the main line and an expansion tank at the output of the hot water heater. No longer heating city water with that addition. Not code here, but installed it in case there is a water failure. Last time, drained every drop of water out of my home. Even the hot water heater was bone dry.
