Okay folks this is it: THE END...

JJM on Fri October 31, 2003 1:25 PM User is offline

Year: 2003
Make:

... of my life as a single guy!

Some of you may recall from some time ago my mentioning of being recently engaged. Well the time has now come for me to finally tie the knot. By Saturday night, I'll be married, so the next post you'll see from me after today will be from a married Joe.

Where'd all the time go?

So I guess I'll be joining the club with the rest of you suckers! Hahaha.

You folks here have been great, and I wish all of you well while I'm away in Hawaii on my honeymoon for about 2 weeks. Okay, it'll really be more of a VACATION from all this wedding and house stuff than a honeymoon; we've been seeing each other too long for that!

It's all over for me...

All the best,

Joe

Or is it the beginning? Congratulations Joe, marriage is a wonderful institution (with the right mate of course and I am sure you took the time to sort that out), and raising a family is a great experience.

Maybe you will be posting later on, on getting some relief from the IRS and property taxes, the schools want $12,000 plus per year to baby sit your kids for 13% of the time and the IRS expects you to support them for around $3,500 for the other 87% of the time. If you want your kids to be smart, plan on spending lots of time with them, they won't get it from the schools, but that is the "proper" way for them to get their education. It may be a pain to clean springlocks, but more of a joy when you are doing it with your own child. And teach him/her how to fish so you feed him for life.

Your kids are the only thing you will be leaving on this earth when you leave this world, the rest will rot.

Both you and your wife require a certain degree of financial independence, I don't want you posting here that your wife will kill you if you have to buy a new accumulator, LOL.

Having the correct mate is the greatest treasure in this world, one that you can trust and love, make your honeymoon more than just a vacation, share and treasure those moments forever. My best to you Joe and to your lovely bride. Nick

Hi Joe,
I lost my list of grief counselors, but when I find it... just kidding.
All the best to you and your new Bride. If your new bride cooks as well as my wife does, you'd better invest in a NordicTrac or something or you'll be sorry ;-)
Congrat's !
your friend,

Not to deter from the sanctity of holy matrimony, but it is a very binding legal contract, widely open to interpretation with the results of making attorneys and a whole group of attorny supporters very rich at your expense. It is a very simple contract to make with a justice of a peace or even a legally unrelated minister requiring a very short ceremony and the signature of just two witnesses, not even before a notary public.

In contrast, I had some rather short business contracts that were well over 100 pages long covering every conceivable detail that as whole did not have the financial risk that a long term marriage contract imposes. Just saying that the marriage contract should be a tad more precise. If one spouse decides to do nasty things and breaks that contract, the other shouldn't be made to pay for it.
