Re: '99 Pathfinder, Replaced AC System, Comp. Clutch Won't Engage
I think you've left disconnected a sensor or switch during these repairs, or as you've suggested it's broken or the wiring is broken. There is also a chance that your ECM or BCM (control module) has determined that the AC system has failed and has disabled it, disconnect battery wait 10 minutes, rec...

Re: 1993 Jeep Cherokee A/C Performance Issues
Evaps normally burst above 275 psig, I've seen some deform at pressures lower than that. It's normal duty for them to see maybe 170-180 psig in Arizona or gulf coast countries, that's 134a saturation pressure at 120F. R12 is going to be about 155 psig at that temperature. I leak check at 150 psig, n...

Re: AC compressor problem
We don't know you, can't tell if you are doing it correctly. What do you mean "tried to fill"? Can you provide more explanation?

Re: High low pressure
Your information doesn't make sense. The low side pressure is NOT 125 psig if you are feeling cold pipes and it is cooling somewhat. I suspect you didn't engage the service coupler and screw down the knob or something, this pressure not physically possible with those temperature observations. You sa...

Re: Tried Midas. Seeking a 2nd opinion.
For your reported condenser pressure of 400 psig +, yes it seems right, as in that is what your liquid line temperature should be for that much pressure. No, it's not right that you have that much pressure. The condenser has it's own separate fan, it's on it's highest speed and running like hell whe...

Re: Installing Aftermarket AC in a Dodge Van
A second service port is a great idea to confirm I believe your subcool measurement. I think more charge will just raise condenser pressures. Based on what I know, I don't think there is anything wrong with the TXV, it's controlling your low side pressure consistently, and we have no idea the real s...

Re: Installing Aftermarket AC in a Dodge Van
OK, I think the TXV is not the problem, I think it's actually overfeeding now. I think the evap exit superheat is not 32, more like 0 to maybe 4. The reason is pressure and temperature not measured at the same location and big pressure drop in between locations. My best clue is the evap inlet pipe t...

Re: Installing Aftermarket AC in a Dodge Van
OK, but you measured those temps where I'm pointing in this picture, correct? 76F after the TXV, before the evaporator? Please confirm
I don't think adjusting the TXV was good advice based on this,

Re: Installing Aftermarket AC in a Dodge Van
Man, this makes no sense, something is wrong. When you say you are measuring the pipes coming out of the evaporator, do you mean the inlet pipe (going from TXV to evap) and the outlet pipe (going from evap outlet, has bulb attached, goes to the compressor)? When you calculate suction superheat are y...

Re: Tried Midas. Seeking a 2nd opinion.
Thanks Tim David, I also think you have a bad blend door, but it's a separate issue from your AC issues. Could be broken wiring, broken actuator, broken door, stuck door. I'm assuming you have a dual zone HVAC? Driver and passenger have their own temp controls? I was assuming when you typed retarded...
