When you mention the "aftermarket" system, I take that to mean the vehicle never came with A/C from the factory. IS this correct, and you installed a universal compressor, cond, and some form of evaporator system?

The universal condensers usually have symmetric design and mounting holes and can usually be flipped up/down and left/right as needed. Large fitting is always on top. Left/Right, yes. that is true large always up - tried to say that if he has it 8/large fitting down, he should be able to put it 8/l...

Rule of thumb in Auto ac, use as much condenser as you can fit in a vehicle.

Back when AMA used to build Aftermarket AC Systems. We used this condenser.

Alum probably is best. But as mentioned, it depends on the pressure. Copper has been used as well. Now that I think about it. Even condensers have been made from copper and are usually painted, though.

Liquid lines are almost always Alum on OE vehicles.
