Re: Possible Weak Compressor, Low High Side Pressure

I've got a 1987 Bronco with a 460 from a 1992 F250, I bought all new AC parts for said F250 with a 7.5l. AC system works pretty well now that I added an electric pusher fan in front of the condenser. But I am having an issue with my low side being around 45psi running and my high side only 150psi w...

Re: Flush mixed in with oil after replacing everything Honda 2006 Pilot

I think maybe ill just pull the compressor drain it and refill with the the same amount in oil then vacuum overnight. I suggest draining, refilling, and rotating the mainshaft more than once to ensure that you get out all the flushing solvent. Oil mixed with solvent won't lubricate the compressor v...

Re: I am stumped... 2006 GMC truck

The only reason why the evaporator isn't getting sufficiently cold is because not enough liquid refrigerant is making it through the expansion device into the evaporator, where the refrigerant changes state from a liquid to a gas, thus making the evaporator cold, and returning the refrigerant gas (a...

When you replaced the evaporator and installed the new Denso TXV, the system was again opened to the atmosphere. Did you replace the receiver/dryer at that time?

Re: I am stumped... 2006 GMC truck

I decided to replace the evap along with a new Denso compressor, a new accumulator, and a new orifice tube. All the repairs went well. I vacuumed the system for an hour and 15 minutes and achieved a vacuum level of just over 1000 microns. I charged exactly 1.6 pounds of new refrigerant from a brand...

Re: I am stumped... 2006 GMC truck

Try bringing the engine speed up to ~1,800 RPM. At idle speed, the compressor isn't doing much of anything.

Re: New Compressor and everything else - not cooling

A couple additional questions come to mind: Did you replace the Orifice Tube, or clean the original one? (It's in the evaporator.) Did you re-install it in the right direction? The correct OT should be black where the screen is, white where the brass tube is (indicating a .072" orifice), and ha...

Re: AC Stopped Cooling

If there's any doubt about the compressor, replace it, the R/D, the condenser (also serves as a debris filter), and flush the rest--or have the job done by a pro. In either scenario, do it right the first time so that you don't have to repeat the job and the expense later.

Re: Peterbilt AC potential evap problem

As I mentioned that truck didn't have anything working properly on the ac system and the high/low switches were bypassed in some sort or fashion so when you turned ac on from inside the cab, the compressor was gonna spin regardless. So it didn't work and I took it off and put that "new" c...

Re: AC Stopped Cooling

What is the best method for eliminating the possibility of a disintegrated compressor? A disintegrating compressor will usually make a lot of noise when it's running, or it will seize-up entirely and throw the drive belt. In extreme cases, parts can break internally and blow-out a chunk of the hous...
