Re: 2004 F-150 Heritage AC
I agree with Tim. Adding dye to the TXV side or the suction side of the evaporator, I don't believe it makes any difference.

Re: 2004 F-150 Heritage AC
In addition to what Cusser said, I would add no more than three-quarters of an ounce of UV dye to the evaporator. Again, a little goes a long way. Special tools are also available to inject the dye into the low-side service port after the system is charged.

Re: 97 Chevy c1500 a/c help needed…
If you haven't already done so, pull out the Orifice Tube (OT) and examine it. It might be partially blocked with gunk and metal particles. If it is, I'm afraid the system will need a lot more work.

Re: High pressure side never drops, even when car is off
I evacuated the system before I recharged it, and the part I purchased claimed to have the R/D already in it. I did measure the refrigerant by weight.
Regarding the amount of PAG oil I put in, I don't recall the exact amount, but it was in the neighborhood of 1.25-1.5 ounces. I did get it from the ...

I don't have a diagram for your compressor. But ACKits.com, this Forum's sponsor, can have your existing compressor rebuilt as long as the mainshaft still rotates smoothly.

Re: 2004 F-150 Heritage AC
Well, it looks like I could not keep my mind on what I was doing:
I proceeded to flush the evaporator, and when I was done, I hooked the lines back up and realized afterwards that I forgot to dry it out with air and I also forgot to add one and a half ounces of pag to it.
Is it possible that if I ...

Re: AC Leaks - O-Rings vs Lines
I appreciate that feedback, especially since it looks like I still have a small leak at one of the connections to the receiver.
Even though the o-rings were replaced, it could be possible that one or more were a bit too small in diameter, and therefore, leak under pressure.
When you get back ...

Re: AC Leaks - O-Rings vs Lines
I would not replace the lines—especially at that price—unless there's some kind of obvious mechanical damage. (There isn't, at least in your photos.)

Re: High pressure side never drops, even when car is off
My daughter has a 2004 Mazda 6 2.3L that was in an accident and was totalled. The car has been very reliable, and it was only the front end stuff, so we took it to a body shop and had them fix it. We took another daughter's car there a few years ago under similar circumstances, and we were very ...
