Christopher, I seriously doubt that you are a mobile AC technician. This paragraph, which you repeated twice, actually applies perfectly to domestic equipment, and NOT AT ALL to mobile. "The thermostat may have been accidentally set to “heat.” If this is the case, it’s easy to fix on your own....

It is possible that the only way you are gonna get a cap that fits is to get an assortment. Tim from ACKits.com has them under SERVICE PORT CAPS ASSORTMENT. There are many sizes such as 13mm & 13.5mm & 14mm & 16mm &17 & 17.5mm We have used our kit a lot to replace various missing...

If the evap is 30 degrees below zero then the vent temp will be 30 degrees below zero, which will freeze the evap into a solid block of ice.
dealers and specs have been wrong before. :mrgreen:
