Re: TXV Temp Sensor Clamped or Taped Only to Evap?

A pic would sure help here. Having said that, the sensing bulb must be in direct contact with the evap exit tube, else the TXV will not perform well at all. This has always been the rule. The sensing bulb should never be on the bottom of the tube, the side or the top is OK. You can use a small hose ...

Careful, even "slight" slugging on first start can be deleterious. Those compressor valves just don't like it.....

Re: Four Seasons Deslugger

Sure looks like a good idea to me. Slugging is a potential issue whenever compressing a vapor. Relevant industries besides MVAC are residential AC, internal combustion engines (coolant slugging from head gasket leak), steam engines (the hot steam condenses in the chamber on startup before everything...

Re: Valve cores

defined however you want, you need both, and the outer cap should have an O-ring I can unscrew the outer cap on any number of cars that arrive here for a function, and without the outer cap, my sniffer goes wild on most ports. The demonstration is vivid for the car owners since so many ac shops don'...

Re: AC not cold and excessive moisture/water under the car

Seems to be a restriction at the accumulator. " changing parts one by one (starting from the cheapest and easiest) " won't be easy and not cheap " there are no parts in the system that can be changed without having to capture the refrigerant first, correct? " Correct You cannot d...

Re: Compressor not holding vacuum

Please recall that you will not get all 12 oz out of the cans.
A pound is 16 oz
So 2.38 lbs is 38.08 oz, take 80% of that to get your 134 charge = 30.4 oz

Since you put in 24, I would add another 6 oz
