Re: Condenser upside down.
"So with the new receiver and condenser I should add another 1oz of oil right?" YES. If the system were all new and dry, the 5oz that the comp calls for would be circulated around all the components. On the assembly line at the factory, the comps have the required oil and it is then distri...

Your numbers are absolutely perfect, good job!

Re: New Ac system acting up - need advice
Yes, until the low reads 30 at 1500. You are getting there. Reporting idle pressures does not help us. Please report as a tech would: 1500 RPM Hi Lo Vent Ambient max fan max cool doors open (full load). And none of us would charge a system or measure system performance unless the ambient were at lea...

Re: New Ac system acting up - need advice
we don't worry about idle pressures, they have no meaning. compressor does almost no work at idle.
shoot for the low as mentioned at speed and then report back what you get for a high, including vent temp

Since system is aftermarket, all bets are off. There can be slight manufacturing differences. You do what you have to do.

Re: New Ac system acting up - need advice
You are low on refrigerant. And please post ambients when posting pressures and vent temps. With RPM at 1500, I would slowly add refrigerant (very slowly) until the low is 30 psi. You may have to go to 35 psi. Keep track of high side pressures and vent temps as you do this, and report back. Weigh it...

Re: Condenser upside down.
As far as how much 134 to use in an unknown system, Brad (Bohica) has posted a procedure to follow in that case. I am sure a search will turn it up

Re: Condenser upside down.
Fittings of #10 into the comp and #8 out of the comp is totally normal. The condenser must be mounted such that the #8 fitting is at the top, and the #6 (liquid) is at the bottom. It will not work if you flip it over from this design spec. Since it is a universal cond, you may have to modify your ho...
