It , looks like problem solved. There was a loose little tubing coming out of firewall into engine bay. Stuck it back in to little boot which is attached to drip system irrigation looking thing with more tubings. Now blowing through vents.

All charged and seems to be doing ok. Now I have air coming from defrost vents only. There is supposed to be a black ball vacuum reservoir black balI thing i guess in the pass side bumper area but that component is not there. There is no ball or lines. Thinking about opening foot well area and see ...
Ok. It occurred to me to weigh the can again now that its empty. They emptied out pretty much. That might tell me exactly how much liquid in ounces went in.
​​​​​​​I have put 2 cans of freon. Cans say they have a net weight of 12 ounces. Compressor originally takes 2.38 lbs of R12. According to a chart, that is equivalent to 2 lbs of R134A. I am coming up with 36 ounces of R 134A of freon to charge compressor. So I would need another can ...
Put freon in and seems to be all good. Thanks soo much. Now it Looks like i have a bit more troubleshooting. Ac only blows through defrost vents. Ideas? (:
Forgot to mention on top of compressor it reads 709T.
Also, do i have to get the service valves with the manual valves? The system was retrofitted with R134a fittings which have the schrader valves. The manual valves would no longer be needed, right?
Thanks for replies. So put new seal in and still not holding vacuum. The compressor is off the car . Don't want to reinstall until I'm sure compresssor is good to go.
So I went ahead and pumped compressed air (don't know why i don't do this before) and heard air hissing out of both manual valves ...
