Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help

You have worked hard to get your system back, nice job. The temp behavior you are seeing is due to the system cycling, I believe. Over time you may figure out a way to eliminate that gap completely Here is a link to mcmaster-carr, an industrial supplier, for all manner of rubber products. We use th...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help

Ok, update. My best estimate is that I managed to get 2.5-3 oz of oil out. I put the foam tube things on the top and side of the consenser, but there was still a 3/8" gap on the top, and then on the sides, about 3/8" toward the top and increasing to about 1" toward the bottom. Without...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help

If the Honda has it mounted 1" away from the radiator, there might be some really easy ways to seal up those edges and increase the airflow through the condenser I was thinking of getting one of the black foam tubes (sorta like a small pool noodle) from home depot that people use on their exte...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help

No arguments on here. It's just my humble opinion for your consideration to help in figuring out what might be causing the problem :D It's appreciated! I wouldn't keep coming back if I wasn't interested in what all of you have to say. I just wish (accurately) getting oil out of this system was easi...

I'm not arguing with you - just clarifying where I came up with my figures, and that I wasn't just winging it. Had I seen the 4.5 before I put everything together, I would have gone that route instead.

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help

Warm air could be making it around the evaporator due to rotten air dams... Yeah, interestingly, this car never had dams between the condenser and radiator. There's just a ~1" gap between the two and it's wide open on the top and sides. The bottom has the metal tray they both share. I suppose ...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help

The factory data that I have for your 2007 CR-V specify 18 ounces of R-134a and 4.5 ounces of PAG-46. You mentioned earlier that you charged it with 16 ounces of R-134a and approximately 6.5 ounces of PAG, maybe more. If the specs I have are accurate, it's undercharged by two ounces, and it still h...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help

At any rate, all of the oil was removed, and i weighed in 6.5oz, so if there are still problems, it won be due to excess oil. Better double-check that oil amount before you button everything up because you still might have a big problem. Unlike a refrigerant charge, the oil amount is measured in fl...

Re: 2007 CR-V, troubleshooting help

I've never seen a Denso scroll pulley driven, didn't know that was even a thing, seems like Sanden would have been the OEM version? I know Honda used both brands over the years. I'm not sure there's much difference in quality, but I'm no expert. I'm not certain the Denso is a scroll either, but it'...
