Re: ARA MFG system??

Really no need to the pull the evaporator yet. Unless the housing is full of leaves & a dead mouse...

Check the receiver / dryer first. It acts as a filter of sorts. It needs to be replaced anyway.

Re: Should I Replace Condenser

It depends on the condition of the condenser, the condition of the car... and what you find on the orifice tube screen. I believe the OEM unit was a serpentine in 2003. Some aftermarket replacements are parallel flow types. A new condenser is under $125 If the old one is in nice shape outside, and t...

Re: 1995 lincoln town car limo, rear A/C

Ok so of the three evaporators, two are doing well. The one that is blowing warm, probably has a bad (or clogged) expansion valve. If you look at the evaporator, the liquid line should have a connection to the TXV, and it should be cold at that point. If not, then virtually no refrigerant is flowing...

Re: Best Compressor For R12 In Diesel Pusher

Well, since 134a has a COP that is about 6% better than R12 - it is unlikely to cool any better when placed in an OEM 134a system. But if you must use R12, at least use Ester oil. That way 134a can be used at a later date. Oil quantity can be hard to determine on a pusher. If you have the OEM spec t...

Hard to say what Executive Coach did when they built it - 24 years ago. Unlikely that the actual builders are even still in business. You will have to open up a good deal of the interior to figure out what the system was made from. Some coach builders actually used the underdash assembly from a Taur...

Re: Youtube AC repair procedure - Right or Wrong?

Removing non condensable gasses is the biggest reason for evacuation. You tube is for entertainment. Cusser, sounds like you missed out on a very entertaining You Tube video - you could be making millions with that crap show you described. If you really want to be entertained, go look for "Zip ...

Re: Problem with short cycling

If the system was over filled with oil, did you flush out all of the components to get back to zero?

Sounds like it is overcharged & cycling on the HPCO. You have 25 ounces in it, and my chart says 21 ounces is a full charge?

Pull the belt off & check the pulley bearing. Try to rock the pulley. If it rocks, or feels rough, the bearing is on it's way out.

When the clutch engages it can pull a bad bearing in to a different location where it makes more noise.

Re: 06 Civic-Insufficient Cooling

The condenser is the primary filter on the system. When a compressor fails & sheds pieces, they go straight to the condenser. Parallel flow condensers have tiny passages - in parallel. When the trash blocks one passage, you lose cooling capacity. They are hard to block completely, and are nearly...
