Re: Pulling Vacuum

As one who is working themselves out of the AC novice label... That is not acceptable. 29" on a gauge isn't accurate enough. You want a Micron Gauge to properly gauge vacuum ($200) to 1st test the pump make sure it is providing adequate vacuum and then to test the system Under 500 on the micron...

Cap for R134a self sealing 12oz can - how to find?

So the self-sealing 12oz cans don't always fully self seal. Is there a cap available for them? The terms "r134a self sealing can cap" yields taps. The tap specs indicate the can side is 1/2" acme but the acme caps found look like they are for valve or pump fittings and seem too tall/d...

Re: How to figure out oil amount for custom system?

Hi Andrew, To determine the oil amount for a custom system, you'll need to consider factors like the system's components and size. Since your compressor came with 3oz of PAG46, that's a good starting point. Check the manufacturer's recommendations for your specific components, and adjust the oil am...

Maybe he needs the money for the new car payments/full coverage insurance 😜 At only 3 years, isn't that cap under warranty? 1) Didn't buy it new 2) No car payments 3) No full coverage 4) Cap is missing 5) No warranty at 245,000 miles Atikovi, yes a razz. As a fellow thrifty guy, I commend your vehi...

Curious, did they tell you how close it was out of the box?

Re: Pump oil

oh, and how many microns would be decent performance at 5,500 ft? Some sources say reduced pump performance at altitude. Some sources say altitude doesn't matter since with microns you are reading absolute not gauge pressure. ...sorry about the topic drift, maybe I'll change to "get an old vacu...

Re: Pump oil

Ask whoever you bought the pump from for a Manual, and the correct oil. I wish I could. It was gifted to me. None of that possible. I tried to make clear the lack of info in the original post. Hence the question here....I really do try to figure things out before posting. At my 5,500 ft it pulled 3...

Re: Pump oil

https://www.ackits.com/12-oz-vacuum-pump-oil-19113?search=vacuum%20pump%20oil What is the benefit / objective of this oil which is at viscosity of ISP 150? ISO 150 is very much at the top of the viscosity range of what's available for vacuum pumps. Most pumps of similar physical appearance say 46 i...

Re: What size a/c service port cap for 2020 Corolla?

Dealer wants $13 for just one high side cap. See these on Ebay for under $1. Any idea which one? Get cap from the dealer for $13. You have a relatively new vehicle (2020) and you're getting cheap over this??? (My newest vehicle is a 2004 Frontier !) What's really sad is that there are multiple caps...
