I managed to score a GM delphi V7 core to use for mocking up purposes. I also sourced a v-belt clutch kit that fits GM V7 compressors. Unfortunately Delphi no longer produces the V7.

Please review the current plan.
*Use a GM V7 compressor, from Tim if he can source a good brand.

Yeah that thing is a chinese frankenstein from a 24v chinese excavator. We are not even sure it is variable displacement.

Belt tension can be accomplished in a few ways. A solid cast iron mount may already have much of what is needed.

You need to know more than just a V7 or whatever model you plan to go with. You can make adjustments on your end but if I were to try and make one up I would be asking these questions from the customer.
