Re: 53 Packard Patrician factory AC

The compressor shop said they could add a v-groove to this compressor. The customer will have to deal with any alignment issues. Sweet! Single or double? What size belt? What diameter pulley? Thanks, Earl See this is why I brought it up before. You tell me what you want, otherwise, I'm chasing rabb...

Re: 53 Packard Patrician factory AC

I managed to score a GM delphi V7 core to use for mocking up purposes. I also sourced a v-belt clutch kit that fits GM V7 compressors. Unfortunately Delphi no longer produces the V7. Please review the current plan. *Use a GM V7 compressor, from Tim if he can source a good brand. *Back off the OE exp...

Re: 53 Packard Patrician factory AC

Did you find out if a V7 can use a V5 v-belt clutch/pulley? I'm willing to buy a V7 and a clutch/pulley. What for mounting options exist for a ...

Re: 53 Packard Patrician factory AC

Yeah that thing is a chinese frankenstein from a 24v chinese excavator. We are not even sure it is variable displacement. I gave you the link to a real V7 in my last post. Belt tension can be accomplished in a few ways. A solid cast iron mount may already have much of what is needed. I would guess ...

Re: 53 Packard Patrician factory AC

You need to know more than just a V7 or whatever model you plan to go with. You can make adjustments on your end but if I were to try and make one up I would be asking these questions from the customer. Guage line Pully dia Ear's threaded or not Rear Head Spade connector Voltage Correct, but most o...
