Thanks, Doug. So, just to make sure, I went out there again, and started the engine, waited and waited about 4-5 minutes not expecting any activity with the clutch, then bam- clutch kicked in. What the heck?? The vents started blowing cold, I waited some more. Clutch ran for say, 3-4 minutes steady ...

2001 Honda Civic EX, blowing warm (ambient) air fro ac, the guages read 125 psi for BOTH low and high side. No activity at the comp. Does this typically mean a bad comp, people?

Right. Who knows how much was wasted by DIY'rs. Only thing- I heard one has to take gentle care of those adapters as they have a plastic thread on top where they screw onto the guage fittings. Dont cross thread them.

People, 1987 Pontiac Sunbird GT non turbo, cant add refrigerant. psi on high side is 170, low side 28. Outside temp 85, car runnnig with ac on vent temp is only 72.
