Tim,
Will evacuating the system also pull some of the original oil out, i.e. require adding additional oil??

Re: Schrader Valves Leaking Down
Tim, It is a motorhome with generic type fittings on the metal lines. A diesel pusher. Do these take special valves. Mine are leaking. My system is down completely and I have telltale oil in the fittings to the brim on both sides.

I was wondering if the Schrader valves used for air conditioning are any different than regular ole tire valves? Mine are both seeping over time down to zero.

Re: More RV Problems
The compressor is new and the clutch is working fine. My low side is a little too low at 10-15 lbs and the high side is fine. The low side goes up to normal when I rev it past 1500.

More RV Problems
My Trans Air system works great until the three fans on the condensor come on and then the compressor clutch releases and falls off line. Could it be that the condensor is freezing up? Or?? I hate to just disconnect the fans.

Vacuum Pump CFMs?
I am in the market for a new vacuum pump for my RV but I see them advertised from 150 cfm to 400 cfms. Is more better or is it just a question of the time it's hooked up?

Re: RV A/C trouble
I don't think there is a way to know how much oil is in your system other than flushing it out totally and starting over. PITA. On my pusher, I probably have errored on the plus side so I don't starve the compressor. I think all this will do is reduce the cooling somewhat but that's better than disi...

Re: RV A/C trouble
Then your pressures were about right. I have a diesel pusher RV that I have been working on the a/c too. Finally got the pressures about right and cold air. Mine too was sensitive to the pressure switch turning the 3 fans on the condensor on and off. Finally got the right parameters for the switch. ...
